We take an existing application or database, we bring it under our wing, put it in our labs, and make it stable. First of all, we monitor the application similar to a "black box flight recorder" and immediately stabilise the application and fix the critical issues. Then we regularly work with the client to identify what it should and could be doing better, what is broken for them and work through the balance of priorities within the client budget to see them get it back on track. This adaptability is a key aspect to the contract ensuring a business is never stuck waiting for a long time before new functionality is available.
Longer term, we then start to build new subsystems around the core with often the eventual goal being to turn off the original system without having any interuption to the daily business functions.
